Roman Kroufek, Michaela Petříčková
EduPort 2026, 10(1):002 | DOI: 10.21062/edp.2026.002
Climate change education (CCE) is increasingly recognised as an essential part of contemporary schooling, yet its systematic implementation in Czech schools remains uneven. Teachers and schools routinely encounter implementation barriers such as limited time and workload pressures, curriculum and assessment constraints, uncertainty regarding both content and pedagogy, and variable institutional support. In response, long-term teacher-support programmes that combine professional learning, peer exchange and mentoring are often promoted as a promising pathway. However, there is still a need for process-oriented evidence explaining how programme support...

Three-quarters regularly support students from non-Czech language backgrounds and those experiencing social disadvantage,...

The usage of visual adaptations of standard music notation (SMN) for students with specific learning disabilities (SLD) is a traditional part of musical instrument instruction. However, this area of music education is under-researched and based mostly on the empirical experience of teachers. In this single case study, we explored the effects of coloured backgrounds, enlarged notations and colour coding of mallets on sight-reading SMN of a musically gifted girl with SLD playing the cimbalom. A pseudorandomized series of tests for pitch-reading with visual adaptations was used in multiple measurements for 5 weeks. This was combined with a qualitative...

Developmental dysphasia, also known as developmental language disorder, is a prevalent neurodevelopmental condition that significantly impacts language acquisition, academic achievement, and social functioning. This article presents a case study of an 8.7-year-old pupil with mixed developmental dysphasia and mild bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. Comprehensive psychological, special-educational, and otorhinolaryngological assessments revealed marked deficits in verbal comprehension, phonological processing, and executive functions, contrasting with preserved nonverbal intelligence. The findings demonstrate how even mild perceptual hearing loss...

EduPort 2025, 9(1):003 | DOI: 10.21062/edp.2025.003
This article explores the impact of social exclusion on the development of giftedness in students growing up in socially disadvantaged environments. The authors highlight the fact that these children often have limited access to educational opportunities and support measures that would allow them to fully develop their potential. Schools located in socially excluded areas typically face a number of challenges such as low student motivation, high absenteeism, risky behavior, and insufficient cooperation with families, all of which complicate the individual support of gifted students. The article presents theoretical concepts of giftedness, approaches...

The study focuses on a detailed description of the patient's clinical symptoms, which include difficulties with gross and fine motor skills, delayed speech and cognitive development, reduced physical activity, and problems maintaining...

Background: There is a significant increase in scientific evidence in education on a global scale, which should be considered by educational policymakers and professionals, and it should be improving pedagogical practice to the greatest extent possible. However, the application of research activities results into pedagogical practice is still insufficient, greatly due to the low knowledge of rigorous implementation procedures and methodologies.
