Developmental dysphasia, also known as developmental language disorder, is a prevalent neurodevelopmental condition that significantly impacts language acquisition, academic achievement, and social functioning. This article presents a case study of an 8.7-year-old pupil with mixed developmental dysphasia and mild bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. Comprehensive psychological, special-educational, and otorhinolaryngological assessments revealed marked deficits in verbal comprehension, phonological processing, and executive functions, contrasting with preserved nonverbal intelligence. The findings demonstrate how even mild perceptual hearing loss...

Světlana Círová, Kristýna Pryč Krahulcová
EduPort 2025, 9(1) | DOI: 10.21062/edp.2025.003
This article explores the impact of social exclusion on the development of giftedness in students growing up in socially disadvantaged environments. The authors highlight the fact that these children often have limited access to educational opportunities and support measures that would allow them to fully develop their potential. Schools located in socially excluded areas typically face a number of challenges such as low student motivation, high absenteeism, risky behavior, and insufficient cooperation with families, all of which complicate the individual support of gifted students. The article presents theoretical concepts of giftedness, approaches...

The study focuses on a detailed description of the patient's clinical symptoms, which include difficulties with gross and fine motor skills, delayed speech and cognitive development, reduced physical activity, and problems maintaining...

EduPort 2024, 8(2) | DOI: 10.21062/edp.2024.005
Background: There is a significant increase in scientific evidence in education on a global scale, which should be considered by educational policymakers and professionals, and it should be improving pedagogical practice to the greatest extent possible. However, the application of research activities results into pedagogical practice is still insufficient, greatly due to the low knowledge of rigorous implementation procedures and methodologies. Efforts to expand the use of implementation methodology in education have been undertaken by the Centre of Evidence-based Education & Arts (EduArt Center), which is an accredited JBI (formerly Joanna Briggs...

The main aim of the proposed tool is to detect indications that may suggest the need for more extensive ophthalmic and orthoptic examination, which would contribute to early diagnosis and subsequent intervention. During the course of this study, a thorough analysis of the reliability of the proposed tool and its practical applicability within the work of special educators was conducted. Data collection was conducted in...

Systematic reviews are a fundamental design for evidence synthesis. Their essential features are systema-ticity, transparency and replicability. They are one of the main pillars of evidence-based education and can facilitate the use of scientific evidence in making recommendations for the education system and in deci-sion-making by practitioners. In Czech educational research, systemic reviews have not been produced so far and researchers and practitioners lack a deeper orientation on this issue. However, this unfavourable situation does not apply only to the Czech environment. A large part of foreign studies with the title of systematic review, which...

Irena Smetáčková, Petr Pavlík
EduPort 2023, 7(1):1-8 | DOI: 10.21062/edp.2023.001
How teachers perceive and assess students has a key impact on the success of student learning. Teachers' assessments of students can take many forms - grades awarded, explicit perceptions of school success, or more detailed perceptions of school characteristics that may promote the chance of successful mastery of demands. If teacher assessment is consistent across these forms, it can provide better feedback, motivation and accountability for their own learning. However, consistency is also important across time. If assessment varies significantly over time, it may be less comprehensible to pupils. In addition, it may (or may not) be indicative...
