Systematic reviews are a fundamental design for evidence synthesis. Their essential features are systema-ticity, transparency and replicability. They are one of the main pillars of evidence-based education and can facilitate the use of scientific evidence in making recommendations for the education system and in deci-sion-making by practitioners. In Czech educational research, systemic reviews have not been produced so far and researchers and practitioners lack a deeper orientation on this issue. However, this unfavourable situation does not apply only to the Czech environment. A large part of foreign studies with the title of systematic review, which...

EduPort 2023, 7(2):19-27 | DOI: 10.21062/edp.2023.006

Although socially disadvantaged students in the Czech education system are numerous, little attention has been paid to the identification and support of this group. Previous attempts have found no tool able to reliably identify these students, in order to provide their above standard educational support. This article summarizes the main results from a pilot study of a new method aimed at identifying students with social disadvantage and the relevant methodology (Němec, 2023). Following research of The Faculty of Education at Charles University, we have drafted and verified a tool “Assessment scheme for the identification of socially disadvantaged...

EduPort 2023, 7(2):28-36 | DOI: 10.21062/edp.2023.007

This research work systematically focuses on the qualitative aspect of the development of a special tool for the identification of visual anomalies in children with cognitive deficits, with the main focus on the visual system. The main aim of the proposed tool is to detect indications that may suggest the need for more extensive ophthalmic and orthoptic examination, which would contribute to early diagnosis and subsequent intervention. During the course of this study, a thorough analysis of the reliability of the proposed tool and its practical applicability within the work of special educators was conducted. Data collection was conducted in...

Roman Kroufek

EduPort 2023, 7(2):37-47 | DOI: 10.21062/edp.2023.008

Aims The aim of this study is to present the results of an evaluation of university courses that have been innovated using the Developmental Continuum of Responsible Behaviour towards Nature and People. This continuum has been adopted as a framework for course modifications by the Lipka Eco-Centre staff, who are also working at several Czech universities. The innovations emphasized a holistic approach, where not only students' knowledge but also their attitudes and competences were increased. The evaluation sought to answer the following two questions: 1. In what ways did the observed variables (relationship to place, teacher self-efficacy, attitudes...
